Being a foreign exchange student here is hard because you would have to cope with a lot of things. One is adjusting to the new environment. I grew up in a tropical country where there is an abundance of sunshine all year long and seeing only white snow everywhere and the freezing cold is a big adjustment for me.  Also, with the cold weather come the thick clothes that I had to get used to when back home, I would only wear shirts and shorts.    Another adjustment that I had to make was the language. I know how to speak English though but communicating it effectively was another thing. Reading the news also helped me practice my accent for I would read it out loud to practice. The news also helped me in getting to know more my host country.  You could learn about the dynamics of the place as well as how they do things by reading the news.
The news is has helped me so much with nit just providing information but also in helping me to adjust to my new surroundings.

Being an expatriate, working out of the country, I keep myself updated with the latest Current Events News by reading them online. The Internet has helped me a lot in keeping up with the latest happenings in and around my country.  Reading it makes me feel connected to the people that I left behind
It has become a habit of mine to start my day reading so that I would know what has happened the night before and I prefer that I am updated with what is happening around me. My secretary knows that I would rather not to be disturbed during the first minutes after arriving in the office in the morning for this is the time that I do all my news reading.
Being updated with the news is not just a way for me to be adept with the latest happenings but also helps me in my work. I do currency trading so more often than not, the events that happen in the country of the currency that I am trading has an effect on how I should do my business. If good things are happening then chances are, things would go my way, however if not, then I might make a big mistake.  So being updated by reading the news is a really big help.

 My kitchen and I used to have this love/hate relationship even after going through two renovations in the past. But like many poorly planned renovations, the added space lacked purpose and efficiency despite of us having to fill it in with chairs and accessories. My kitchen design ideas was to open the kitchen to the dining area to create a view while cooking and also I couldn’t resist adding few more kitchen cabinets.

It took the woman from the insurance agency, about two hours to cover every single type of term life insurance policy that they offered. If she had been talking with anyone else but my mother, it probably would have gone much faster. My mother took notes on the term life insurance no medical policy; because she thought that it would be the best for her situation.

I am quite sure that the woman, who was doing all the talking and explaining, has been through all of this before with other clients but still it cannot be fun. I tried to help my mother by taking some notes myself. If Jack Van Impe is really coming to town like everyone is saying, then I need to find out how to get six tickets to the event. I have not actually seen any information about it, but a buddy of mine told me that he had heard it. If I just knew which venue he would be going to, then I would call and ask them myself. I can think of a few that it might be, but there is no way that I can call every convention center in town.

If this is only a silly rumor that someone started, I am going to be very upset. I have held off on telling my wife and both sets of our parents, who would be the five people in addition to me that would be going. I cannot tell them that I heard this and then not deliver the tickets.

I am going to look on the internet for a schedule of where Jack Van Impe will be next weekend since that is when they said that he will be coming to town. If it is not next week, then maybe just the date is wrong and it will have the correct one in addition to how I can get tickets to the event.

I knew a guy who was looking to sell diamonds. I asked him how he had gotten them, and he just told me that they were from a long lost relative who had passed away. I was not too sure if this guy was telling the truth or not, but I decided to help him out and see who he could sell diamonds to locally.

I know that some friends of ours used to sell wedding ring settings, so they might be able to point me in the right direction. I called them and they said that pretty much any of the local jewelry stores or pawn shops would make him a fair offer but if he wanted to really cash in, they knew a guy that they used to deal with when they used to sell wedding ring settings, that would pay them more than anyone else.

I gave the guy the name and number of the person my friends said would pay him more money and then walked away from the deal. It turns out that the guy who will pay more, is just a local retired jewelry store owner who collects loose diamonds to pass along to his kids, when he passes.

When I saw an Arizona wedding music band that my neighbors hired for their wedding, I thought that they were great. In fact, I wondered if they would be willing to play at my companies Christmas party next year. I took a business card from their manager and told him that I would be calling if I got the approval that I needed.

I told my boss all about the Phoenix private party band, since I did not want to say that they were strictly an Arizona wedding music band. It just did not sound right when you were trying to book them for a holiday party.

I tried to let him think that it was all his idea and I informed him that I would handle everything and then let him take all of the credit at the party. He liked the idea of having a good fun Phoenix private party band, instead of the vulgar DJ that we usually have. The band was actually going to cost about one hundred dollars cheaper in the long run, since they were going to play for six hours and the DJ usually is hired for four hours. I was really looking forward to the Christmas party this year.

I sent my husband to the store to get some things that were on the big list that I made for him. He called me as soon as he got into the infant pajamas section, because he said that there were too many choices and he did not know which ones to get. I told him to find something nice and affordable and it would be fine. I know what he is talking about, when he says that the infants pajamas section is a little overwhelming. How they can design so many cute things, that the baby is just going to sleep in anyway and no one is going to really see.

My next call came from my husband when he got into the girls pajamas section and had to ask me which princess or television was our daughter’s favorite. He had to choose from all the different screen printed girls pajamas and did not want to get one that she did not like. I gave him a short list of her favorites and then just waited to see what he was going to bring home

When my husband got home after his shopping adventure, I had to tell him how great he had done with picking out both of our girls pajamas and that they were both really pretty and the girls would love them.
