Time to Move On

Parting time is probably the most hurting moment of our lives. As much as possible, we want to hold on to things that make us blissfully happy at the same time sad. My estranged husband and I never thought that we would reach that stage. Probably, because we had not been successful in having kids of our own, or maybe because we got too caught up with work that what little we had for each other had slowly slipped away.

On a lighter note, it was a decision on both ends. We decided we were off better than friends. There were no bitter words and feelings when we parted. Now, I wanted to totally move on. I decided on moving to another state. There were so many things that needed to be given away. The wedding ring was the first to have gone. I had known that selling gold online in this particular jeweler was excellent. I needed the money, so, with the agreement of my estranged husband I decided to sell gold online including my wedding ring.

I love diving as a sport. I used to dive to various dive spots around the world especially on areas where there was a shipwreck. One time while diving in a shipwrecked spot, I found several coins and stuffs from a Spanish galleon that dates back to 17^th century. Me and my partner decided to sell those coins to an auctioneer to earn money and finance our next diving expedition. To our disappointment, the auctioneer offered us such low rates that we decided to withdraw from the auction.

Too eager to get funds for our next trip, me and my partner decided to search in the internet sites where we can sell old coins at a higher price and luckily found one where they will also accept us even if we will only be selling old silver coins. After finishing the deal we were surprised at how high our earnings were and that this was more than enough to finance two of our diving trip. We never really expected this high turn out that we decided that every time we got something from our trips, we decided that we will only sell it to them exclusively.

Surprise for Dad

My mom came to me one day asking for help. She wanted to surprise my dad on his birthday by buying him a really nice watch however she does not have enough money with her. She’s a full time housewife ever since and she just depends on my dad for her allowance. I could not help her that time to for I also used up my savings to pay for the house that I recently bought for myself. I suggested that she sell old jewelry instead to add to whatever cash she has on hand.

She was amenable to it but was worried if her friends were going to pay her on time to be able to buy my dad’s birthday gift. So we went to town looking for a place to sell her stuff. The gold shops that we found gave a ridiculously low price so we refused to sell it to them.

My mom was getting worried and was thinking of just buying something else for Dad when I found this site that could send the payment quickly to people who wanted to sell diamonds for quick cash. I emailed them right away for my inquiries which were promptly answered. I told my mom about it and she agreed to sell it to them. I knew a guy who was looking to sell diamonds. I asked him how he had gotten them, and he just told me that they were from a long lost relative who had passed away. I was not too sure if this guy was telling the truth or not, but I decided to help him out and see who he could sell diamonds to locally.

I know that some friends of ours used to sell wedding ring settings, so they might be able to point me in the right direction. I called them and they said that pretty much any of the local jewelry stores or pawn shops would make him a fair offer but if he wanted to really cash in, they knew a guy that they used to deal with when they used to sell wedding ring settings, that would pay them more than anyone else.

I gave the guy the name and number of the person my friends said would pay him more money and then walked away from the deal. It turns out that the guy who will pay more, is just a local retired jewelry store owner who collects loose diamonds to pass along to his kids, when he passes.

I am selling coins to the local library for them to display. I put together some rather impressive coin collections over the years and now do not know what I want to do with them. I thought of just donating them to the library but after sitting down and figuring out what I actually probably gave for the entire collection, I need to get at least half of that money back.

The library actually contacted me about selling old coins to them to add to their already massive display, since someone who is a close personal friend knew that I had many in my home. They had a list of the different coins that they were looking for and I had all but one of them. I would have to break up my collections, and did not want to sell old coins on their own so we came to an agreement of terms for me selling coins to them.

The library would take all the collections from the coins they wanted and I would only charge them half of what they were worth. We would both be getting a good deal and I may even take the money and start to build another new coin collection.
