Getting the salary that you want

There is a very common misconception that the salary of the sports agents is entirely dependent upon the contract negotiations. This is really not the case. If you are a great negotiator and represent some of the best athletes, you can earn as much as you want to. There are many avenues from where you can earn your salaries.

Representing a star NBA player like Kobe Bryant means dealing with number of sports contracts and other contracts of financial advisors, real estate brokers, insurance advisors, advertising agencies, and product endorsements. As NBA agents you would need to keep a cool head and build your salaries through these. You can either charge a percentage fee or can charge upfront fees from the companies offering these services.

While negotiating a rise in your pay package, remember that the benefits of your clients should be the first priority. If as a certified sports agent, you fail to d that, then the career of your player and yours as well will be written off. Make your financial dealings with utmost care. Remember that long after the stars have stopped playing, they will still thank you for the financial deals that you made for them in their active playing career.
